MEDITATION MONDAY PRESENTS: Common Myths and Misconceptions about Meditation (IS is really good for us?)

Good Morning! I hope you are all well and survived the weekend with your hearts and souls intact!
WOW! What a crazy busy time of the year and what a crazy weather pattern we are having here in the US..
I mean, the Fall time when it was supposed to be chilly it was super duper warm.. felt like Spring in November.
NOT... that I am complaining, because I LOVED It!
However, I always somehow knew with each 70 degree day, that we would have to "pay the piper" in the long run...lol
NOw... we are most definitely making up for it with each 30 below day we have and with every 10 inches of snow that has fallen in the past couple of weeks!
It is only December and we are having Arctic Weather.... crazy huh?
For those of you who live down south...... I envy you... but only in a loving and kind fun sort of way!
So... I say to all of you...
"Weather" (hehe get it weather....) you live in the US or any other country.....
I send you love and blessings on this day and always... may you always be safe and warm this winter (or summer for some)....
SO to get in to todays lesson.....
I have had a lot of criticism lately from folks who do not understand my journey and truly believe that when I say I "Meditate"....
That I am doing some dangerous and hellacious stuff!
Some people truly believe that anyone who "Meditates" is on the wrong path and headed straight for Hell when they die...
I know a lot of you are similar in your journeys to me in the fact that you were raised in a "Christian" environment, but always felt there was more to the story....
OR.....
You still very much respect the "Christian" lifestyle... but would like to add depth to your worship.
Whatever your views are with religion....
I am here to tell you that "Meditation" has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING....
To do with "Religion".....
It is simply a practice of sitting quietly in silence, following a guide, going within, and clearing your mind.
Some people have told me recently, because I "Meditate" instead of "Praying"... I am calling in bad things to myself.
TO this I say to you....
When I mediate... I AM PRAYING!
But just on a deeper level! Just in a more profound way!
I have also had someone recently tell me that "When you open your chakras, you are calling in the 7 Hindu Demons"
AND....
To this I say...
I don't really even know what that means...... because I am not associating my meditation practices with ANY RELIGION!
Let me just say that when I first started to "Meditate" it was during a time when my life was not so good, positive, or fulfilling!
One night after having many (many) days in a row of panic attacks and anxiety so bad that I literally felt like I was going to have a heart attack....
I got the idea to look up online what I could do....
I was desperate for something that could help me....
I found an article that stated how meditation would help me "Clear my mind" and "Focus on positive things".....
I thought "What can it hurt...?"
I found a guided mediation on Youtube that said it was for the purpose of stopping panic attacks and anxiety....
I put my headphones on, I started the video... I closed my eyes and just listened to the voice on the other end....
As he spoke.. I followed his prompts....
Before I knew it, the panic attack STOPPED dead in it's tracks!
I felt amazing...... I was so thankful I came across that video..(looking back now, I am certain it wasn't myself that lead me there...)
SO I started doing it every night before bed...
and those videos led me to start seeing other ones come up where I could connect with Angels...
I had always been drawn to Angels my whole life..... but before that I was afraid to actually connect to them..
I mean, I had purchased books before that were about "Connecting to Angels and Spirit guides"...
But I started reading the books and then would get scared and not finish them.... because I somehow just knew that it wasn't fake...
I must not have been ready at the time..... I needed to heal some things in my heart, before I was ready to work on my soul....
But by the time I came across the Angel Meditations, I was ready!
SO.....
From there I started to "Meditate" asking God and the Angels to be with me...
I couldn't believe how quickly my life started to turn the corner when I would sit in silence daily and not only connect with the Divine....
But truly own my mistakes i had made in my life and it led me to see things from a whole new light!
I started to realize that there is so much more to everything in this world (and outside this world) than I had ever imagined!
The more meditations about love and positive energy I did....
The better I felt....and then....
The better I felt.....
The more my soul began to open up to new things and possibilities....
Which eventually (about a year later).... with the open mind and open heart and soul I was carrying...
I had a huge spiritual awakening......
And everything that had ever happened in my life ...
every single moment..... made perfect sense!
Meditation became me.... and I became Meditation....
Because it helped me to stay in my heart and live from my soul!
I had opened up a whole new world for myself.. one of love, peace, and living in my own truth (not anyone else's truth or religion)....
It wasn't about religion at all.. it was about me doing my soul work.. healing my whole being!
So for those that want to meditate but are afraid to, because you are worried about the repercussions of your soul....
I am here to assure you that God(source) loves you regardless of how you sit in silence.....
You are not going to be "Judged" or "Thrown in Hell" because you choose to "Meditate".......
I mean unless you are "Meditating" to hurt others and purposely calling in evil or sending out bad energy and vibes unto the world or other people..
and then....
I have no idea what will happen.... because I am not dead yet!
But I do know... that
1) If it helps you feel good
2) If it feels like you are in your truth
3) If it is enhancing your day to day life
4) If it is helping you heal your past hurts
5) if it feels like it is bringing you closer to the Divine Realms
6) If it is loving, positive, and makes you happy (then in turn you are sending that loving positive energy outwards to others...)
THEN IT IS OK.... PERIOD!!!!!
You see....
NOONE... ABSOLUTELY NOONE....
Else can tell you (or me) what is best for you (or me)....
ONLY YOU know what is for your Highest and best purpose while you are here on Earth...
ONLY YOU..... can walk your path of truth.....
ONLY YOU..... can feel what you feel inside and know your connection to God and the Divine.......
You see...
Meditation is only about the intention you have when you do it!
If you have positive and loving intentions for yourself and others when you meditate.....
You are not only helping yourself... but Humanitity to heal!
What we each individually send out into the world....... gets reflected back to us... I promise you that!
If your intentions are true and you intend to mediate to uplift yourself and connect with God (source) or to enhance your prayers...
I am not certain how that will bring bad things to you.... I am just not!
Here are some Myths about meditation for those who are new to it or want to start doing it on a more regular basis.....
But before I get into that, let me just say this!
Meditation to you, should be what it is and means to YOU!
There are so many types and kinds of meditation out there that people are encouraging others to do...
BUT.....
If they do not work for you and all it does it stress you out...
then you are not following the callings of YOUR soul!
Meditation should be about developing a connection to yourself and your heart and soul first and formost......
If even thinking about Meditation sends you into panic and anxiety (because you feel you just can't shut off your brain and even if you try you feel you are doing it wrong.....)
Then you are not in YOUR truth....
But instead are in judgement of what you think meditation should be for you!
When you meditate... go into it with zero expectations!
Zero judgments about what the results should be... just let it flow... let it be what it is meant to be.....FOR YOU!
As Einstein said "If we judge a fish on how well it climbs a tree.. it will always fail!"
So.... be open minded and open your heart.....
and please...
Unless you are dedicated to a certain belief system and practice a specific religion......Leave Religion out of it, for the soul (hehe soul) purpose of just developing your own relationship with your being outside of your physical body!
Here are some of the things I have learned from my own experiences.....(note that I never expect or believe that my way of thinking is truth for everyone... I just try to help guide you to what is YOUR TRUTH).......
1) THE GOAL OF MEDITATION IS TO CLEAR YOUR THOUGHTS
TRUTH: We are humans.... our minds process thoughts faster than we can even think about what our thoughts are.... if you are trying to be completely thoughtless... you will just get frustrated and will never develop what truly works for you...
so instead.... as thoughts come in...Send them love and acceptance... know that they are possibly signals from your guides and Angels on what you should be working through and healing.
Let the thought be there... see it through and then let it go!
Only YOU know what the goals of your meditation practice are.... there are no rules here guys...... only love and acceptance for every single part of your being!
2) THERE IS A RIGHT AND WRONG WAY TO MEDITATE
TRUTH: Many people truly believe that meditation needs to be a certain amount of time or done in a certain way.....
They think, ‘I have to do it just perfectly or I won’t get the value,’”
I say NO WAY!
Relax, it is just meditation. You cannot break it, so do not hold onto it so tightly. Be gentle with yourself.
Do what feels right for YOU and YOUR SOUL! If meditation to you is simply sitting in silence with your hands folded in prayer.. then so be it!
If you feel like you need to follow a "Guided" meditation to "Connect".... okee dokee!
If you like to sit and just put relaxing music in the background.... yep that works too!
It doesn't matter what anyone else says or does.... let your meditation time each day be about what you need it to be and what feels right, positive, and/or healing for you!
As long as you feel amazing and able to move through your day with love and peace in your heart afterwards....your cannot go WrONG!
3) IF YOU AREN'T IN A CERTAIN POSITION YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME!
TRUTH: You definitely do not need to be in lotus position or any other well known traditional "position" to meditate.
As long as you are in a position where you are completely comfortable and can completely relax your body, as to let go of your physical body for just a bit and focus on your breathing and let go.......
you my dear are meditating!
4) MEDITATION IS ESCAPISM
TRUTH: To some people, meditation is “running away from problems,” “navel gazing,” “lotus eating,” or “disregarding the world.”
Actually, running around being busy and never having time to experience yourself deeply is escapism.
When you meditate you’re brought face-to-face in a very direct way with your own anger, delusion, craving, pain, and selfishness.
There’s nothing to do in meditation but to experience and work with these things.
Also, some forms of meditation — such as loving kindness and compassion meditation — involve us working at transforming our relationship with the world by cultivating love and empathy for others.
5) MEDITATION IS A NEW AGER THING...
TRUTH: Hell NO! Just because you choose to meditate, does not mean you are following any "New Age" beliefs..... not any more then it means you are a Buddhist, or a Hindu, or a Christian, or any other Religious belief system..
Meditation has been around since the beginning of time. It is simply a way to take some time out of each day to work on you and your soul....
It is having complete and total love and compassion for yourself and bringing in what you want...
It not only benefits your physical body.... but it benefits your mind, and your soul.
If you are trying to follow the "New Age" movement or any other Religious belief system and no matter what it may be.. if it feels right for YOUR SOUL.. YOUR JOURNEY here on Earth...
If it brings peace and harmony to your every day life....
and helps you feel a connection with all that is Divine (no matter what that means for you)....
THEN IT IS RIGHT FOR YOU!!!
To take 15-20 (or however long you wish) minutes out of every single day to take care of you and all that is you.....
To use meditation for the purpose of pulling in love from God (source), the Angels, your spirit guides (whatever any of those things mean to you)......
And then send that love out into the world to others......
and live a peaceful and happy... Great-FULL existence....
I just cannot for the life of me see why this would send me to Hell?
I do not follow any sort of Religion per say...
BUT....
I have the utmost respect and love for each and every single Religion out there.......
I am a free spirit... I follow what feels real and loving to me...
I love and respect God, Jesus, Mother Mary, all of the Angels and Saints.....
I have an unlimited amount of love for Mother Earth.... and for Humanity!
My guess is that if you are reading this... you probably feel the same way as I do...
We are all Humans... seeking a path that is right for us!
We are all here to learn lessons and better our selves in what ever way works best for us!!
Meditation only helps enhance this way of living.....
I truly hope that for anyone who wants to meditate, but is not doing it out of fear....
that you can break free from the shackles of what society says is right and wrong...
and FOLLOW THE CALLINGS OF YOUR OWN SOUL....
ALWAYS!!!!!
